Dear member of the Lekkernassuh community,
Unfortunately, we have received the news from the Lekkernassuh purchasing team that our supplier will increase their egg prices. The reasons include the fact that, due to nitrogen emission restrictions, suppliers are not allowed to keep as many chickens. This was the case for our previous supplier, Biesland Hoeve. Further, there is a high demand for protein, also through eggs, due to a trend of increased protein intake for fitness.
Lekkernassuh had not yet updated the price for consumers to reflect the increase from half a year ago. Unfortunately, we will now increase the price from 45 cent to 50 cent per egg (including VAT). The supplier Zwaanheuvelhoeve provides 3 star, happy chicken, organic eggs with strong sustainability goals. Comparable eggs are often sold at supermarkets from 60 cent per egg. We regret these price increases and hope that this information is clear.
