Time to party!
Lekkernassûh, Voedsellokaal de Gymzaal and the Weggeefhoek exist 10 already ten years! And Voedsellokaal de Gymzaal has been remodelled and reopened! We wouldn’t have made it without all the volunteers with their tireless efforts and without all the enthusiastic participants. That is why we are celebrating on 5 October! There are activities at all locations: because we are happy with all the activists, our farmers and other pioneers for a fair and sustainable food chain in The Hague.
The programme
Toverbosch
From 10.00 till 12.00
We will open the party at 10 am and enjoy a delicious breakfast, specially prepared by Liselotte from the Volkskeuken. Children, but of course adults too, can build bottle rockets with Victor, which will then be launched. Meanwhile, Jan can tell you all about the Mariahoeve food forest. He makes delicious jams and chutneys from what grows in that forest, feel free to taste. Great music will be provided by the Ukelele orchestra, one of KunstPost‘s initiatives that uses art to connect and contribute to the quality of life in the neighbourhood. Spinozahof
From 12.00 till 15.00
Don’t remember what to do with that cabbage in the fridge? Take it to Spinozahof and turn it into turşu. This is a Turkish way of fermenting. Members of The Hague fermentation group RotClub also hook up. Curious about a new green project in the neighbourhood? Joeri Oudshoorn will come to tell and show a bit about the EnergieKas, a living lab for energy, food and meeting on top of a roof. If you are curious to know what ‘feeling at home’ is for others, join the art project ‘At home in The Hague’ and embroider your own ‘feeling at home’ on a piece of fabric. This piece of fabric and many embroideries by other fellow city dwellers will appear on a little house that will ‘come home’ in the Central Library in May 2025 during a festive event on Feeling at Home. Meanwhile, have you gotten hungry? Then join the weekly Spinoza lunch or help out and enjoy a Turkish pizza baked in Spinozahof’s pizza oven.

Gymzaal
From 15.00 till 19.30
At 3pm, Robert Barker, our food councillor will open our beautifully remodelled ‘Voedsellokaal de Gymzaal’. Then the carpet is out for The Give away shop’s sustainable fashion show in collaboration with XR and we will get a behind-the-scenes look at the organisation of Lekkernassûh and hear more about the origins of our club. Have any questions for our farmers? You can ask them during our meet and greet around drinks time. And the whole thing will of course be framed by fun party music by The Outbirds. The Ooievaarsbek will provide an evening meal.
Unfortunately, the kids workshop of The Waste to Success cannot take place, it will take place at a later time. Keep an eye on our socials for this!

Musicon
From 19.30 till late
To top it all off, join Musicon for a toast at 19.45 to celebrate 10 years of Lekkernassûh and the start of Musicon as an official Lekkernassûh venue. You will be welcomed with a fermented drink, and then you can indulge in ska band ‘The Toasters’. The first 20 Lekkernassûhrs will receive a 20% discount on a ticket with the discount code LEKKERNASSUH (tickets available via Musicon’s website). For the toast you DON’T need a ticket, if you want to stay for a dance buy your ticket at online or at the door.
