Solidarity Project Gymzaal

Lekkernassûh is working on a fair and sustainable food chain. This includes making our healthy
vegetables affordable for everyone in The Hague. That is why we start a new experiment ‘solidarity’
at location The Gym on October 15.

How does it work?
At the checkout you find small cards. One side it says: ‘Solidarity, I donate €2.50’.
The other side says ‘Solidarity, I would like to receive a €2.50 discount’. As a participant, you can
take this card at the checkout and show the side that suits your situation. You will show the
donation side if you are willing to pay extra to allow for a discount for another person. The receiving
side will show you when you need it because you’re falling short.

We test this in the Gym from October 15 th until November 19 th . After this period we evaluate this
experiment and decide about the next steps. During this period you will also find a small book in
which you can write your (anonymous) feedback about this system. We would like to know what it
feels like to give or receive. And if you have doubts about this kind of solidarity we would like to hear
why and what would help you.

How do we make Lekkernassûh more inclusive?
The solidarity project is a first step. For a truly inclusive Lekkernassûh, more is needed. We are
aware that just outside Lekkernassûh there are many people who do not even afford our package.
That is why we would like to launch an ‘inclusiveness’ project. We’re looking for people who want to
join the inclusiveness project. With the question: How can we lower the threshold for people who
cannot participate in Lekkernassûh?

At the moment, location Toverbosch also has a solidarity campaign for people with a small income.
The remaining non-storable vegetables are donated to ‘Lichtpuntjes Mariahoeve’. They give the
vegetables to residents who need it. Perhaps something similar can be organized in other locations?
