This week’s package includes a lot of the colour green! Swiss chard, turnip greens, lettuce, fennel, leeks, and even green pumpkin!

Good to know: From 22 October, the Toverbosch location will be at its winter location, Christus Triumfatorkerk, Juliana van Stolberglaan 154. Opening hours remain the same.

Don’t forget to change your status before Sunday 8pm, if needed. Enjoy!

 In next weeks vegetable package:

  • 1 green chicory, Kievit in Katwijk
  • 1 bunch of turnip greens, Kievit in Katwijk
  • 150 grams of loose lettuce, Kievit in Katwijk
  • 1 small fennel with leaves, Kievit in Katwijk
  • 500 grams yellow and purple carrots, Peter van de Erve in the Hoekse Waard
  • 1 leek, Hoeve Biesland in Delfgauw
  • 1 green pumpkin, Landzicht in Strijen
  • 1 red cabbage, Landzicht in Strijen

  • Banana (Ecuador)
  • Apple Santana (Goudsbloem in Buren)
  • Nashi pear (Kwako in Sommelsdijk)
  • Clementine (Italië)

News items

  • Weekly diner on Wednesdays at the Gymzaal: We are very happy to bring back eating together! The dinners will take place in De Gymzaal on four consecutive Wednesdays starting next week. Food will be vegan and nut-free and on a pay-what-you-can basis. Please find more information and register until Sunday at 12.00 via this form: https://forms.gle/xMCAVqdfdZ5r7ewZ7.
  • Eggs will change suppliers: You may have noticed that we sometimes receive white eggs instead of brown ones. From mid-October, we will no longer receive eggs from Hoeve Biesland (the brown ones with faces), but from Zwaanheuvelhoeve in Brabant. The eggs will also become more expensive, from 40 cents to 45 cents per egg. In the blog, we explain why this is happening. 
  • Experiment ‘solidarity’: Lekkernassûh is working on a fair and sustainable food chain. This includes making our healthy vegetables affordable for everyone in The Hague. That is why we start a new experiment ‘solidarity’ at location The Gym on October 15. How does it work? At the checkout you find small cards. One side it says: ‘Solidarity, I donate €2.50’. The other side says ‘Solidarity, I would like to receive a €2.50 discount’. As a participant, you can take this card at the checkout and show the side that suits your situation. You will show the donation side if you are willing to pay extra to allow for a discount for another person. The receiving side will show you when you need it because you’re falling short. We test this in the Gym from October 15th until November 19th . After this period we evaluate this experiment and decide about the next steps.   • Winter location Toverbosch: Toverbosch will move to its winter location on the 22th of October. Adress: Christus Triumfatorkerk, Juliana van Stolberglaan 154. Opening hours will stay the same.
  • Do you have a surplus of Timebank hours? Please spend them at the market or package-free shop, or (if you don’t manage to spend them all), please donate them to Lekkernassuh! Or to the solidarity project! Ater the summer, we have a big shortage of hours, because there are more going out than coming back in.
  • Pick-up points are on hold: We have enough cyclists for distributing the parcel, but we’re looking for a suitable transport bike and one or two persons to do the coördination. As soon as the pick-up points restart, this will be announced!

Package-free shop
The package-free shop is open every Saturday from 11 am – 1:30 pm at the Gymzaal. Would you like to help? Register via this link . More information about the store can be found here .
